I want to extend my sincere wishes for a happy New Year to all our members. 2020 promises to be an exciting year and the beginning of a new decade, and once again, I am looking forward to working with you all – as individuals, organizations and HR ‘’superstars”! Together we can mutually benefit from one another in coming up with the best solutions to the HR challenges we will doubtless face within the nonprofit sector.
HRPANO has a promising future and the HRPANO Executive Committee and I will work hard to ensure we remain a ‘center of excellence’, and knowledge, for the nonprofit HR community. As part of that we are reaching out to all of you to help focus on deliverables for the future, including:
· Offering topics and presentations identified as ‘of great value to members’ in feedback from you. These include our monthly meetings which keep members up-to-date with the latest developments in HR, and provide great opportunities for professional networking.
· Ensuring we continue to provide the right services to meet the needs of existing members and to attract and engage new members from nonprofit organizations.
· Making sure that HRPANO remains a viable organization for our young professionals
· Reviewing HRPANOs governance structure to support, and reflect, our increasingly broadened activities and ensure that we’re in the strongest position to develop new activities.
Both Philippe Rosen, Treasurer, and Marcia Eberhardt, Vice President, will be stepping down as officers of HRPANO very shortly. They have played an immense part in HRPANO’s history and accomplishments and have devoted enormous energy in making HRPANO what it is today. As we look towards a new decade, I am calling upon you, our members, to build upon our past success and start with a clean slate on suggesting what you would like to see HRPANO become. In your own words, why don’t you share your vision of what does HRPANO need to be for this coming decade. I need your input and involvement and a fresh point of view for ideas that you think we should be considering for the future. How will know what to improve upon if we don’t know what is wrong? By asking our members base for their opinions, we’ll be better able to adjust our membership benefits to appeal to you. I really would like your feedback.
So….let’s kick off HRPANO Fresh Start! It’s my Call to Action. I’m looking for your thoughts on how HRPANO can be better at engaging our members. I want to know what’s missing. And...I’m looking for some volunteers to become more active in HRPANO decision making. During this quiet last week of 2019, in which many of you are taking off for the holidays, get your creative juices pumping for more ideas that can HRPANO even better in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, etc. !
I’m very proud to be in the privileged position to lead HRPANO in this important work and in continuing the excellent work of past HRPANO officers. I hope you will all join me in looking forward to the coming year.
On behalf of my fellow Executive Committee members I wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year in 2020.
