If the chief executive is suddenly unable to serve, does your organization know what it will do? Putting in place a pro-active succession plan reflects a commitment to the longevity of the organization. Still, it tends to be a sensitive topic to consider.

It is ultimately the board of directors’ responsibility to ensure executive leadership continuity. But planning for all levels of staff transitions is in the domain of the human resources department.

This workshop is designed for human resource professionals. Encouraging you to play a vital role in managing your organization’s risk if the chief executive should suddenly be out of the office for a month, three months or longer. In this workshop you will be introduced to the first stage of a Succession Plan – planning for an emergency CEO/Executive Director leave. This will set up the dialogue to develop a planned departure of the chief executive and professional development to enable staff to step into other senior positions.

The workshop presenter, Lynne Molnar established Molnar Consulting in 1993 and currently works with the Support Center/Partnership in Philanthropy’s Executive Transition’s Program. Her expertise is in the areas of executive leadership and board development.

Holding graduate degrees in both business (Boston University) and education (Harvard Graduate School of Education), She brings to her consulting work a long career in nonprofit management, with 20 years of management consulting to nonprofit organizations and 18 years staff positions serving at various times as supervisor, controller and executive director.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, January 19th.

The meeting will be hosted by Philippe Rosen, Director of International Human Resources, Clinton Foundation, located at 1271 Avenue of the Americas, 42nd Floor.

Please bring a picture ID for entry to the building.  You must register for this event.  You name must be on the list for entry to the building.
